The People of the Cave at Triple Canopy
Anna Della Subin reads from Tawfiq al-Hakim’s 1933 play The People of the Cave,  which was inspired by the legend of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus. The evening will feature performances by Gini Alhadeff, Omar Berrada, Robyn Creswell, Sukhdev Sandhu, Emily Stokes, and Eliot Weinberger.

Hal Foster: Bad New Days at The Kitchen
Art historian and critic Hal Foster will read from and sign his recent collection of criticism Bad New Days, which examines the evolution of contemporary art and criticism with a focus on the “the general condition of emergency instilled by neoliberalism and the war on terror.”

Martine Syms: Vertical Elevated Oblique at Bridget Donahue
In her first solo show for the gallery, Martine Syms presents new work that explores movement in performance via the video piece Notes on Gesture, as well as through double-sided photographs. A bookshop will sell publications from Syms’s own imprint and others.

Poetry Under Fata Morgana in Madison Square Park
