Dominique Lévy announced today that Robert Sheffield has joined the London gallery as associate director. Sheffield served as associated director in the UK chairman’s office of Christie’s London for five years before joining the gallery, where he will work alongside senior director Lock Kresler and associate director Eloise Margoline.

Dominique Lévy gallery was founded in 2013, and maintains exhibitions spaces in New York and London, as well as a Geneva office. The gallery represents, among other artists, Enrico Castellani, Frank Stella, Pierre Soulages, and Günther Uecker, as well as the Estate of Yves Klein, the Estate of Roman Opalka, and the Estate of Germaine Richier. The gallery is also active on the secondary market with a focus on the work of Alexander Calder, Willem de Kooning, Lucio Fontana, Alberto Giacometti, Pablo Picasso, Robert Ryman, and Cy Twombly.

Gerhard Richter Color Charts

Sheffield will take up the new appointment on October 12, coinciding with the opening of “Gerhard Richter: Colour Charts”, which will focus on the earliest works of this series, first presented in 1966.

In addition, he will continue his involvement with London’s rich art landscape: he is chairman of the Serpentine Future Contemporaries Committee, an ambassador for the TATE, an active lead member of the ICA Young Patrons, and a founding member of the Outset Young Production Fund.
