“Nothing lasts forever, and we both know hearts can change.”
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash may be the one singing those immortal “November Rain” lyrics now that he and his wife of 17 years, Perla Hudson, have divorced. But some fans may rejoice at the news that a trove of Slash-related memorabilia will soon hit the block at Julien’s Auctions this spring as part of what it’s calling the pair’s “uncoupling auction.” (It’s not the first time a celeb has cashed in name recognition during a marriage’s end: For a master class in the form, look no further than Russell Crowe’s “Art of Divorce” sale last year.)
Many of the items in the Slash sale would have been impossible to predict (what, you didn’t know he had a ventriloquist dummy of himself?). But at the same time, once you see them collected together, one must admit that it all looks about right.
Here are a few highlights from the collection of Perla Hudson and Slash—aka Saul Hudson—which will be sold by Perla at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York on May 17 and 18, helpfully ordered from least to most ridiculous.
