Since 1987, The International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) has been sponsoring the most celebrated art fair dedicated to fine prints. The IFPDA Print Fair brings together approximately 7,000 of the world’s major Fine Art print dealers, collectors, scholars, and enthusiasts for the largest fair of its kind. New York City’s Park Avenue Armory is hosting the event from Thursday, November 6 through Sunday, November 10, bringing the Upper East Side to life with IFPDA members exhibiting from 13 countries. View early woodcuts, traditional engravings, etchings, lithographs, and Contemporary pieces from a wide range of blue- and gold-chip artists, spanning nearly six centuries of printmaking.

At the fair, the IFPDA also hosts scholarly lectures offered by go-to experts in the field of fine prints. Gallery talks, introductory seminars, and in-depth discussions educate collectors and enthusiasts about prints throughout art history. Spanning continents, from the Americas and Europe to Asia, as well as genres, from Old Master to Contemporary editions, the lecture series is sure to spark interest among an array of inquiring minds.

The IFPDA foundation will announce the winner of the second annual Champion & Partners Acquisition Prize in Honor of Richard Hamilton at the fair. Last year, the recipient was the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which used its cash winnings to purchase a print at the fair for their permanent collection. Innis Howe Shoemaker, senior curator of prints, drawings, and photographs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, selected a US$10,000 John Cage (American, 1912–1992) trial proof from 1969 from the Carl Solway Gallery, who is sure to draw a crowd at the fair again this year.

Other must-see booths include the Susan Sheehan Gallery, representing global Pop and Minimalist artists, including Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923–1997),Richard Serra (American, b.1939), and Jasper Johns (American, b.1930).Carolina Nitsch Contemporary Art is representing Modern and Contemporary big-wigs, including Jenny Holzer (American, b.1950), Marilyn Minter (American, b.1948), Cindy Sherman (American, b.1954), and Bruce Nauman (American, b.1941). Gemini G.E.L. at Joni Moisant Weyl will feature new projects by Ellsworth Kelly (American, b.1923), Claes Oldenburg (American, b.1929), and Terry Winters (American, b.1949), among others.
