“A moment of quiet for #JoanJonas, Ozu, and @paulha2 before @la_biennale_di_venezia’s vernissage officially opens” – @resnicowculture
While the 56th Venice Biennale doesn’t officially open until May 9, true insiders are rarely expected to wait until the public opening to see (and share!) an important exhibition (see Everything You Need To Know About the Venice Biennale 2015). Thanks to Instagram, the rest of us can follow along from home as the first Biennale-goers witness world-renowned artists putting the final touches on their pavilions. Of course, in addition to the Biennale itself, there are countless collateral gallery shows and installations throughout the city. Check out some of the most buzzed-about works by Sarah Lucas, Joan Jonas (her installation at the US pavilion is pictured above), Danh Vo, and more.

“It’s almost time for #Biennale: Alexandre Dang’s “Dancing Solar Flowers” installation will welcome visitors in the Ca’ Foscari main courtyard from next Thursday, May 7th! Each flower contains a photovoltaic solar cell that will allow it to move constantly (as long as there is light!)” – @cafoscariuniversity
