The Guggenheim has announced Troy Conrad Therrien as its curator of architecture and digital initiatives, a newly created position for the museum. Meanwhile, Pablo León de la Barra, the museum’s Latin America curator for the UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, will join Rio de Janeiro’s Casa França Brasil as its new director.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has appointed Denise Allen as its curator of European sculpture and decorative arts, reports the New York Times. Allen comes from the Frick, where she has been curator of Renaissance painting and sculpture since 2003. She replaces James David Draper who has been at the museum for 45 years.

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, has announced the resignation of its president, Don Bacigalupi, who will become the founding president of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Chicago (see “Design for George Lucas’s Narrative Art Museum UnveileK“), as reported by Burnaway.

Christie’s France has named Edouard Boccon-Gibod as its new general director. According to Art Media Agency, Boccon-Gibod comes from being president of TF1, the French national TV channel, and as president of Métro Publications.

The current director of Antwerp’s Museum of Modern Art,​ Bart De Baere, has been announced as the curator of the 2016 Moscow Biennial, as reported by Flanders News.

John B. Ravenal has been chosen to be the new executive director of deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, reports the Boston Globe. Ravenal comes to his new position from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, where he has been for the past 16 years.

Two more pavilion curators at the Venice Biennale have been announced, as reported by Art Forum. Philippe Van Cauteren of S.M.A.K. Museum for Contemporary Art in Ghent, will head Iraq’s Pavilion, while Vincenzo Trione, an arts and new media specialist from Milan’s IULM communications university, will be the youngest curator in the history of the Italian Pavilion, as stated by the Biennial Foundation.

Phillips has announced Lisa King as its new chief of staff. According to the auction house’s press release, King comes from being international managing director, chief operating officer, and a member of the board of Christie’s International, and in her new position will work on the expansion of the brand.

Marek Bartelik has been reelected as the president of the International Association of Art Critics for 2014–17, while Marjorie Allthorpe-Guyton has been chosen as the new secretary-general for the Association for 2014–18. 

The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center has announced that Daniel Fuller will be its new curator as of December 1, according to Art Forum. Fuller has been director of the Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art for the last four years.

San Antonio Artpace executive director Amada Cruz will be the next director of the Phoenix Art Museum, succeeding longtime director Jim Ballinger, who announced his retirement after 32 years earlier this year, reports AZ Central.

The Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP) has appointed Adriano Pedrosa as its new artistic director, as reported by Art Media Agency. This is one of a number of changes led by the Museum’s recently-elected executive president Heitor Martins and a new board of trustees.

Cynthia Calabres , who has worked in fundraising and philanthropic giving for 25 years, has been named as Dallas Museum of Art‘s new director of development, Artdaily has reported.

London art fair Art15 has hired Kate Bryan, previously director of contemporary art at the Fine Art Society, London, as its new director. Bryan will succeed Stephanie Dieckvoss, who headed the event’s two previous editions (see “Kate Bryan Appointed Director of London Fair Art15.”)

Manifesta 11, which will open in 2106 in Zurich, Switzerland, has chosen German artist Christian Jankowski as its chief curator (see “Christian Jankowski Will Curate Manifesta 11“).

Elizabeth Armstrong has been named the Palm Springs Art Museum‘s new JoAnn McGrath executive director, according to a press release. The announcement comes soon after the opening of the museum’s new architecture and design center. Armstrong has over 25 years of experience in curating and comes directly from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

The Saint Louis Art Museum has announced M. Melissa Wolfe as its new American art curator, reports ART news. Wolfe, who will replace Andrew Walker, comes from the Columbus Museum of Art, where she has been for 14 years.

AXA Art has promoted Jennifer Scally to managing director of the company, reports Art Media Agency. Scally has been with AXA since 2006 and has been developing its services in Asia.

Frost Art Museum of Florida International University has named Jordana Pomeroy as its new director. According to Artdaily, Pomeroy previously served as executive director at Louisiana State University’s Museum of Art in Baton Rouge, and will officially begin her new position in January 2015.

The director of the Archives Claude Picasso, Tatyana Franck, has been named as the new director of the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, commencing in March 2015, reports Artdaily.
