Everything is bigger in Texas, and the first ever edition of the Affordable Art Fair in Austin promises to live up to the adage. Alighting in the city for the very first time, the beloved international art fair is set to run from May 16 through May 19, 2024. The fair promises to be one of the largest art events ever staged in Austin, bringing together more than 50 local, national, and international galleries that, like with other iterations of Affordable Art Fair, will showcase work by living artists ranging in price from $100 to $10,000 maximum.

Speaking of the fair’s choice to expand to Austin, Affordable Art Fair Austin Director Cori Teague said, “When looking at which U.S. city would be the best fit for our first national location outside of New York City, Austin was at the top of our list. We felt a strong connection to the city and saw the demand for contemporary art at an affordable price. The Austin community has an appetite to learn, have new cultural experiences, and connect with the local creative scene in a new and exciting way, and we’re here to do that.”

With a mission centered on accessibility as well as providing a platform for artists, Affordable Art Fair Austin is slated to stage a full range of programming, including panel discussions, tours, and workshops—complementing the diverse range of artworks presented by participating galleries. Art collectors and enthusiasts already familiar with the Austin-based art scene will have the opportunity to explore their favorite local galleries presentations, such as from McLennon Pen Co. and Sage Studio, as well as work shown by galleries and artists from abroad.

Austin is recognized for its own unique appreciation and support of visual art and artists, and Affordable Art Fair Austin promises to be a seamless addition to the arts landscape. Continuing to foster and promote engagement and accessibility within the community—as well as bring an international audience to the city—the new addition to the fair’s roster of cities is an exciting development for both followers of Affordable Art Fair and Austin itself.

Affordable Art Fair Austin will run May 16–18, 2024.
