With the Fourth of July behind us, we are now entering into the real summer months—and New York is full of resources when it comes to offering you an unforgettable season. Among all the exciting events that take place this week in the Empire State, we decided to feature a chance to grab breath of fresh air, beat the heat, and head to the Hamptons! While attendance expectations ran high this year at the recently closed ArtHamptons, art lovers are back with two major art fairs opening today. Art Southampton has established itself as the must-see event of the season for collectors, museum professionals, interior designers, and art lovers, while Market Art + Design—the evolution of Art Market Hamptons—is bringing the East End’s premier art fair to the Bridgehampton Museum. Of course, you can’t go to the Hamptons without enjoying the landscape and treating yourself with a stroll around the hamlets and villages in Southampton and East Hampton, and so we’ve prepared a list of galleries and museums to explore while you’re there. From Bridgehampton to Sag Harbor, go and discover Stanley Casselman’s first show in the region, the first US museum solo exhibition of Peter Beard in 15 years at the GuildHall, or new paintings by Timothy Bergstrom and his Reflections on the Swamps of New Jersey.

Like Edward Hopper, Jackson Pollock, or Roy Lichtenstein—artists who understood the potential and the beauty of the Hamptons—follow in their footsteps and have yourself a grand summer weekend.
