Portuguese artist João Onofre has set up an airtight box on the plaza outside of London’s famous Gherkin skyscraper in which he’s asked death metal band Unfathomable Ruination to play until all the oxygen inside the small space is used up, the Independent reports.
The performance, Box Sized DIE will take place every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night during “Sculpture in the City,” which begins on July 3. The exhibition runs through August 1, with the band hitting their first chord at 6pm each night.
Aside from nearly suffocating the group, the box will also block the sound from their undoubtedly loud tunes from exiting its black confines. Unless viewers see the band entering or leaving the cube at the beginning and end of the performance, it will look simply like an odd, vibrating box.
