French fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus has a new model and his name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny. The Puerto Rican rapper now stars in the campaign for Jacquemus’s new collection in its “Les Sculptures” campaign.

Launched on January 29 at the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul de Vence, France, in front of an audience that included the likes of Julia Roberts and Jack Harlow, the label’s ready-to-wear Spring 2024 runway paid homage to Alberto Giacometti. Work by the Swiss sculptor, painter and draughtsman is currently on display in an exhibition at the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen. In addition to Giacometti, Jacquemus has taken inspiration from artists such as Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, and Georges Braque.

This isn’t Bad Bunny’s first time working with the designer. The musician had already served as a model and brand ambassador for the “Le Splash” campaign, which debuted in 2022 to much fanfare, and had worn an equally sensational, Chanel-inspired backless blazer to the Karl Lagerfeld-themed 2023 Met Gala in May. Jacquemus has also collaborated with other celebrities, including reality TV star Kendall Jenner, supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Jennie of the Korean girl band Blackpink.

For “Les Sculptures”, Jacquemus photographed the so-called “King of Latin Trap” wearing various clothes from the collection, which are now available online. These include a pair of square edge derby shoes (“Les Zizi Repetto Jacquemus”), a suit jacket (“La Veste Cuadrada”), and loose pleated pants (“Le Pantalon Salti”).

Some outfits are more avant-garde than others. In one photograph, a shirtless Bad Bunny can be seen wearing pants that come up to the middle of his torso, where they fold into a large, clam-shaped belt. In another, he wears a pair of red pants reminiscent of a half skirt.

Standing on a stone column against a backdrop of the French Riviera, the musician certainly emulates Giacometti’s elegant artwork.
