Last week, artnet News reported on Kanye West’s utterly classless wedding gift to wife Kim Kardashian, a nearly-nude painting of the reality star glad in a g-string and heels. Now, a conflicting report from NME indicates that the topless portrait, by anonymous British street artist Bambi, referred to by many as “the female Banksy,” may not have been commissioned by the rapper after all.

According to the latest article on the subject, “sources close to TMZ report that neither West nor Kardashian know anything about Bambi or his work and that not only was the painting not ordered, it is not wanted either.”

Bambi’s representatives are denying such claims, and maintain that the artist received a five-figure sum for her work, which is titled My Queen Kim – Perfect Bitch. Allegedly, West’s vision for the piece was to depict his bride as a princess, in the style of a royal portrait. There’s just no accounting for taste.
