Manchester’s Whitworth Art Gallery has just announced it will reopen to the public on October 25 with a major solo exhibition by British artist Cornelia Parker. The gallery has been closed since September 2013 to allow for a redevelopment project lead by MUMA (McInnes Usher McKnight Architects). The design will extend two wings into the park, allowing for the creation of more gallery spaces, as well as new facilities for research and education. The redevelopment also features an “art garden” and an orchard garden designed Sarah Price, whose previous work includes the 2012 Olympic Park.
