“Punk Princess” Gloria von Thurn und Taxis is no stranger to celebrity. As a social icon of the 1980’s, she spent significant time at the fabled Hotel Chelsea, where she went, in her words, “not to sleep, but to look at who [was] there.” So it comes as no surprise that a bevy of big names turned out for the opening of her show “Come On Darling, Don’t Be Mad” at the Hotel Chelsea Storefront Gallery. The show features von Thurn und Taxis’ delightfully off-kilter portraits of Hotel Chelsea regulars, including Andy Warhol, Willem de Kooning, Allen Ginsberg, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Claes Oldenburg and more. Among the crowd at the opening was Jeff Koons, Andres Serrano, Calvin Klein, and legendary event producer Susanne Bartsch.
