Montblanc Haus, the majestic new space dedicated to the luxury brand, opened to the public today. Located in Hamburg, Germany, near the Montblanc headquarters and manufacturing center, the three-level, 118,000-square-foot building is part museum, part brand immersion. It’s sure to become a destination for travelers passionate about art, history, architecture, and, of course, Montblanc’s coveted writing instruments.

Designed by the famed Berlin- and Madrid-based architect Nieto Sobejanos, the structure was inspired by the packaging of Montblanc pens. Entrants are greeted with a sculpture by the Paris-based artist Wendy Andreu. It also encompasses an event space, boutique, and café.

The 115-year-old company is celebrating more than its heritage and products with the space—which is dedicated to all aspects of writing. At the Writing Atelier, visitors can take classes in calligraphy and creative writing, and the brand is also offering free classes to disadvantaged young people in the area.

“This experience is not only dedicated to all the incredible stories that have been written over time, including our very own,” said Montblanc’s executive vice president of marketing, Vincent Montalescot, in a statement, “but to all the great stories that are yet to be written, as we invite our visitors to be inspired to leave their mark.”
