Presented by Art Miami, Palm Beach Modern and Contemporary art fair returns this week for its seventh edition March 21–24, 2024. Debuting with an invite-only VIP Preview benefiting the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens on March 21, the opening will include the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to “Baby” Jane Holzer, recognizing her work as an art collector, film producer, actress, model—and Andy Warhol’s first “superstar,” appearing in a number of the artist’s films in the 1960s.

The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens will serve as a satellite venue for Palm Beach Modern and Contemporary and simultaneously present an exhibition in partnership with Paul Fisher Gallery. “Savage Garden (Jardín Salvaje)” features work by 2024 Artist in Residence Jordi Mollà (b. 1968), whose 30 year career practice ranges from painting and writing to acting and directing. “Savage Garden” takes inspiration from nature and imbues the site with “Surrealist energy,” tapping themes of ambition and imagination.

Upon entry to the fair, a special solo exhibition titled “Bernie Taupin–Two Sides of the Sixties” greets visitors, with 15 mixed-media works by Taupin, who in addition to being an accomplished artist, was a longtime songwriting partner to Elton John. The selection of works are each a reimagining of iconic images by the late photographer Terry O’Neill, who was a close friend of Taupin..

“This is a fantastic highlight this year!” said fair Director Nick Korniloff. “Fresh after receiving the 2024 Gershwin Prize for Popular Song with lifetime musical partner Sir Elton John, Bernie Taupin will be on-site and join the global art community of collectors, celebrities, and esteemed figures in the art world.”

Within the fair itself, galleries hailing from Austria, Venezuela, Germany, and Colombia—and a host of locales in between—are slated to present world-class works dating from the 20th and 21st centuries. An opportunity for both established and nascent art collectors, pieces going on view include contemporary blue-chip, post-war and modern masterworks, as well as works from emerging and mid-career artists working today.

Some of the exhibitor highlights being shown include Fernando Botero and Jesús Soto at Ascaso Gallery, Miami and Banksy at Blond Contemporary, London. Works by Keith Haring will be shown at both Robert Fontaine Gallery, Miami Beach; and Taglialatella Gallery, New York; while Galerie Raphael, Frankfurt will show a selection of pieces by Alex Katz and Joan Miró. Indianapolis-based Long-Sharp Gallery will present work by Mel Bochner, Julia Ibbini, and Andy Warhol, to name just a few.

Palm Beach Modern and Contemporary will also coincide with the internationally renowned Palm Beach International Boat Show, which VIP cardholders will receive complimentary one-day admission to, making the forthcoming fair days an unmissable moment within the greater landscape.

Palm Beach Modern and Contemporary will be held March 21–24, 2024, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
