The paparazzi’s favorite heiress turned out to support a friend’s cultural project on Thursday. Paris Hilton’s friend Brandon “Greasy Bear” Davis, who also happens to be an heir to his family’s oil kingdom, reportedly invited her to the opening of a show of Mexican artist Bosco Sodi‘s works at his pop-up exhibition in central Los Angeles.

According to the Daily Mail, which first had the story, Hilton, who wore an elaborate summer lace dress, was spotted heading to the gallery with singer Lana Del Rey, whom she first befriended at Coachella’s 2014 edition.

The show, named “Malpaís,” a term equivalent to the word “badlands,” is a joint effort between Brandon Davis Projects, New York’s Paul Kasmin Gallery, and Spanish-born New York collector Jose Mestre, who owns a 40-foot-long Sodi painting. Organized by writer and curator Matthew Schum, the show includes the artist’s cubes of solid clay as well as works made from volcanic rock covered in gold or ceramic glaze. Sodi is perhaps best known for large monochrome paintings made from pure pigment mixed with materials such as sawdust, wood pulp, and natural fibers.

Sodi, who maintains studios in his native Mexico City as well as New York and Berlin, is represented in the holdings of institutions including the Jumex Collection, Mexico City and the Vitra Design Museum, Basel. This is his first exhibition in Los Angeles.

“Bosco Sodi: Malpaís” runs through October 8 at 143 N. Robertson Blvd., Beverly Grove, Los Angeles.
