It’s not even Thanksgiving yet and the flood of party invitations for Art Basel in Miami Beach is pouring into art world email inboxes.
Beyond Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody’s pop art contributions this year, one in particular caught our eye—the opportunity to see socialite Paris Hilton DJ at WALL Lounge in the W Hotel on Collins Avenue for, as the release boasts, “what is becoming an Art Basel staple event not to be missed.”
According to the invitation:
On the heels of her summer hit “High Off My Love” and her sister getting married, the SKAM Artist DJ returns to Wall to showcase her skills as she spins alongside Mr. Mauricio.
Which begs the question: Is Paris a good DJ?
According to TMZ, Hilton has claimed she is one of the top five DJs in the world. The gossip site claims sources “close to Paris” said she makes between $100,000 and $350,000 per hour at clubs in Ibiza and in other party hot spots around the world.
But in a more recent blog on the Huffington Post, her skills were [gasp!] called into question when a fan snapped a pic at a gig in Brazil. A man was seen adjusting the knobs on Hilton’s equipment, raising the question of whether she may be raking in hundreds of thousands per hour to simply stand behind a set of turntables.
Miami is reportedly on alert for excessive partying this year, and there are an increasing number of exclusive events that everyone seems to want to attend. However, Paris DJing is probably not one of them.
Paris Hilton spins at WALL at the W Hotel, 2201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, on Friday, December 4, 2015.
