Roman Abramovich Plans NYE Blowout Despite Recent Financial Loss
Roman Abramovich, the Russian businessman, art collector, and boyfriend to Dasha Zhukova may have recently parted with $450 million in about 48 hours, thanks to some major economic turmoil in Russia. But, it’s clear that there’s one area his recent financial losses won’t affect: the party budget.
Abramovich and Zhukova are still throwing their annual New Year’s Eve bash in St. Barths, where Diddy is apparently also planning a lavish party with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as expected guests, Page Six reports. In years past, Abramovich’s soirees have included celebrity guests and surprise performances, including one by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He may even be teaming up this year with megadealer Larry Gagosian. Perhaps Gagosian has something up his sleeve akin to Miley Cyrus’s performance at Art Basel in Miami Beach?
We think the real solution to the tale of the rival ritzy parties is for Diddy and Abramovich to team up on one extravagant party-to-end-all-parties. After all, with Kim and Kanye desperate for art world clout, it seems so unfair to keep them on the opposite side of the island as Gagosian.
