The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia has announced the nomination of Pamela Rosenkranz to exhibit at the Pavilion of Switzerland at the 2015 Venice Biennial. The show will be curated by Susanne Pfeffer, Director of the Fridericianum in Kassel since 2013. Pfeffer has also been chief curator of KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, as well as curator at MoMA PS1 in New York.

Rosenkranz and Pfeffer worked together last year on Speculations on Anonymous Materials at the Fridericianum Kassel. The Swiss Arts Council hopes that this year’s show will add to the curator’s string of internationally successful exhibitions, which include Kenneth Anger at MoMA PS1 in 2009 and nature after nature at the Fridericianum in 2014. 

“I am interested in how Pamela reflects on technological change and the associated transformation in contemporary philosophy, science, global economy and consumer behaviour in her work,” commented Pfeffer. “Rosenkranz confronts us with materials and concepts which, through their ubiquity, have become determinants of our time while remaining difficult to perceive.”

For the fourth consecutive year a concurrent program of events called Salon Suisse has been organized by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia at the Palazzo Trevisan for the duration of the biennale. The Dada artists Juri Steiner and Stefan Zweifel have devised a program titled S.O.S. DADA – The World Is A Mess.
