Over the past year former US President George W. Bush has racked up higher approval ratings for his paintings than he ever saw as a politician, and now he’s ready for a solo show. The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas will open an exhibition featuring more than 24 of its namesake’s portrait paintings in early April, conveniently timed to coincide with the Dallas Art Fair (April 11-13).
The exhibition, titled “The Art of Leadership: A President’s Personal Diplomacy,” will also include personal artifacts and photographs. It will coincide with another new exhibition at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, which is on Southern Methodist University’s campus, titled “All Creatures Great and Small: Christmas at the White House 2002.” Which show will showcase the former president’s talents as an animal portraitist remains unclear.
