Christies announced that it will be teaming up with art world impresario Simon de Pury to offer the famed Lambert Collection on October 14. This will be the first effort from De Pury’s new auction venture, simply titled De Pury.

The sale, which is titled “A Visual Odyssey: Selections from Lambert Art Collection (LAC),” features more than 300 objects that span eight different categories and three centuries. Contemporary art highlights include works by Christopher Wool, Ugo Rondinone, Mark Bradford, Marilyn Minter, and Cindy Sherman. Furniture ranges from elaborate French ormolu to a minimalist set by Donald Judd and a lamp designed by Gaetano Pesce (whose bold installation was recently realized by artist Anthea Hamilton at the Sculpture Center).

Estimates for individual lots in the collection also vary widely, starting from just £20 ($30) and running up to £5 million ($7.6 million). The collection was put together by Baroness Marion Lambert, a close friend of De Pury’s, with encouragement from her late husband Baron Philippe Lambert.

She also created the pioneering photography collection, titled “Veronica’s Revenge,” that De Pury auctioned at Phillips in 2004.

The sale will take place at Christie’s King Street saleroom as part of the Frieze week auctions, and will be preceded by an exhibition at Ely House that will be staged by famed designer Jacques Grange. It will also be simultaneously staged on the websites of both Christie’s and De Pury.
