Calling all unemployed or unsatisfied liberal arts majors! ArtPrize is hiring an Education Manager, and it could be you.
The Michigan-based competition is known for its lavish grand prize of $200,000. Do educators get a similarly princely sum by way of salary? If you land the gig, let us know.
ArtPrize seeks “a dynamic, organized, and creative person.” That’s totally you!
The organization also grants a sweet purse to an artist chosen by popular vote, though Alexandra Peers (then with artnet News) wondered this summer if the whole thing was getting too professionalized (see “Is the Populist ArtPrize Becoming . . . Snobby?“) Maybe you can keep it real.
“You’ll take the reins of our educational programs,” the ad promises, “setting the vision, managing the details, and creating the resources that enable institutional educators, schools, teachers, families, and students to engage with ArtPrize.”
Your primary responsibilities will include “the implementation and development of K-12 educational initiatives, grant writing, administration of grants to partner institutions, managing transportation grants, creating educator and family resources, heading the ArtPrize Education Advisory Committee, running ArtPrize’s youth art competition, and conceiving and implementing new education programs.”
But hurry up and head to their website to submit your touched-up resume, as this window of opportunity closes January 21, 2015.
