The Madness of Art Returns to artnet With ‘The Nobody’s Perfect Martini’ (Season 4, Episode 14)

How do dealers deal with ridiculously picky collectors? Answer: they get drunk.

Deep in the heart of Chelsea, one gallery captures the madness…

The Madness of Art is a web series that focuses on the bustling life of an art dealer living and working in Manhattan.

Accompanied by his trusted staff and based on 25 years of art world experiences, gallery owner Jim Kempner writes, directs, and stars in this satirical comedy, produced by artist Charlie Hewitt, that answers the question, “What’s so funny about the art world?”

The stories are often based on actual events, giving the viewer a glimpse of just how hectic life in the NYC art world can be. There’s also special guest appearances by numerous artists including Robert Indiana, Bernar Venet, Tony Fitzpatrick, and more.

This satirical show is now in its fourth consecutive season, with a fifth season coming out in September.

The topic of the last episode of Season 4, “The Nobody’s Perfect Martini,” shows Jim working hard to impress two ridiculously picky and already reasonably drunk collectors. Poor soul. We are posting it here as a teaser for the new series that we are very happy to say is returning to artnet and will be aired on artnet News beginning in the fall.

Don’t miss this hysterical show the Huffington Post called, “the art world parody show you should be watching,” where nothing in the world of art is safe.
