The Paris Photo Los Angeles Art Fair List is Out

Paris Photo Los Angeles

The roster of dealers going to the West Coast for the third edition of Paris Photo Los Angeles is out. The fair will take place at Paramount Pictures Studios from May 1–3, 2015. Yasmine Mohseni wrote of last year’s fair: “Paris Photo Los Angeles felt more convivial and less ‘business as usual’ compared to other fairs where art advisors and collectors jockey for a prime spot at the most coveted booth” (see Paris Photo LA Taps the West Coast’s Emerging Art Market).

With 80 galleries from 17 countries, the list is the same size as last year. Exhibitors like Taschen, Aperture, Printed Matter, Steven Kasher, and Garis & Hahn (see 14 Young New York Art Dealers To Watch) are on the list this year.

There were reports following last year’s event that it would overlap with FIAC, another Parisian art fair with an LA outpost, in 2015 (see Los Angeles Editions of Paris Photo and FIAC Shuffle 2015 Schedules). However, FIAC has since cancelled this year’s edition, with plans to return in 2016 (see Confusion as FIAC Cancels Los Angeles Fair for 2015).

The fair also recently appointed a new director, art fair veteran Florence Bourgeois, as well as a new artistic director, former Yvon Lambert Gallery senior director Christoph Wiesner (see Florence Bourgeois Takes Reins at Paris Photo, Christoph Wiesner to Be Artistic Director).
