Now that the dust has settled on a week full of art viewing, party hopping, and, of course, celebrity spotting in Los Angeles, we took a look at the sales reported by galleries who showed at Frieze L.A. The fair’s third edition returned to the city in its new Beverly Hills digs and welcomed more than 30,000 visitors over the course of four days, with 100 local and international galleries.

Among the high-priced highlights were Xavier Hufkens’s reported sale of all its new paintings by Thomas Houseago, each with a price tag of $350,000, and one of which, Purple Sunset on the Pool, will enter LACMA’s permanent collection. Meanwhile, David Kordansky’s solo booth of Michael Williams’s “Puzzle Paintings” sold out within the first hour of the fair, with all seven “Dog Paintings” selling for $100,000 each. And in other mega-gallery news, a new work by Jordan Wolfson sold at David Zwirner’s booth for $400,000—amid rumors that that Larry Gagosian is reportedly wooing the artist to join his stable.
