This year’s Frieze Talks, a series of daily lectures, conversations, and panel discussions to be held at Frieze New York (May 9–12), will be headlined by Pussy Riot co-founders Masha Alekhina and Nadya Tolokonnikova.

Also on hand will be two artistic directors of upcoming international art fairs: Okwui Enwezor, who has been tapped to head the 56th Venice Biennale next spring, and Adam Szymczyk, who will run the show at Kassel’s documenta 14 in 2017. Beatrix Ruf, just named director of Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum, will speak with  artists Helen Marten and Jordan Wolfson. Poet and author Kenneth Goldsmith and Joshua Oppenheimer, director of The Act of Killing (2012), which will screen in a special director’s cut, will round out the selected featured speakers.

Frieze Talks, which has been organized by Tom Eccles, the executive director of Bard College‘s Center for Curatorial Studies, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, and frieze associate editor Christy Lange, will take place in the auditorium in the massive Frieze New York tent.

The unmasked ladies of Pussy Riot, who have become outspoken advocates on behalf of prison reform since their release from Russian jail, will talk with the New Yorker‘s David Remnick about their work with the feminist art collective and Zona Prava, an NGO that takes up their new cause. Among the other highlights, Enwezor will converse with jazz pianist and composer Jason Moran, while Goldsmith will contribute a keynote lecture.
