Sotheby’s Institute of Art is entering into a new partnership with two colleges at Beijing’s Tsinghua University: the School of Economics and Management, and the Academy of Arts and Design. The two institutions will henceforth combine their academic resources and faculty members, offering courses, degrees, and professional certificates in business and financial studies with a focus on art and the art market.

Beginning in the fall, Sotheby’s and Tsinghua will offer a six-week international field study program with a professional certificate. The course will be administered in week-long intensives hosted in major art centers around the world over the course of one year. With exposure to new art companies and visits to artists’ studios, galleries, museums, and private collections, the program has been designed for students, art professionals, and collectors alike.

A two-year master’s degree in Art Business Management will include coursework from the existing masters programs at Sotheby’s and both Tsinghua colleges. The program will be administered in Beijing, and focus on the Asian art market.
