Art Basel has released the lineup of exhibitors and programming for its upcoming 2025 Hong Kong edition, which will be held in the city in March.

Though the number of participating galleries has remained precisely the same as last year, at 242, there has been a turnover rate of roughly 20 percent. So, while 46 galleries dropped off the 2024 list, 46 galleries have joined. Around 20 participated in another Art Basel edition but did not exhibit at Art Basel Hong Kong this year.

More than half of the galleries are from the Asia-Pacific region. The 23 galleries that are new to the fair hail from India, Australia, Kosovo, Guatemala, Nigeria, South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Greater China region.

Among the notable names that dropped off the list are Alison Jacques, Edward Tyler Nahem, Galerie Eva Presenhuber, and Helly Nahmad.  Some of the new names on the 2025 list include Berry Campbell, Blank Projects, and LambaLambdaLambda.

The fair announced a new partnership with Para Site, the stalwart Hong Kong alternative space, which will lead the fair’s film program. Also it will host the inaugural edition of the MGM Discoveries Art Prize  which will award its first winner in 2025 with a cash prize to be shared between the artist and the gallery presenting them at the show, along with an opportunity to exhibit in Macau.
