These Are the 10 Most Expensive Artworks Sold at Auction in November 2024

A nine-figure Magritte finished first. And another Magritte, of the same subject, managed to grab the 10th spot.

The marquee November auctions in New York were smaller than in recent years, amid ongoing concerns about the state of the art market and the broader economy. However, Christie’s was at least able to boast a nine-figure sale, and some prized blue-chip works still sold well. Read on to see the priciest auction lots for November, according to the Artnet Price Database. Interestingly, the same Magritte subject managed to make the top 10 twice!
