Following recent news of Damien Hirst buying a London mansion for $57 million and his plans to build a small town in Devonshire, artnet News decided it was time for a tour of the YBA’s real estate holdings. Notorious for encrusting a skull with 8,601 diamonds and encasing a tiger shark in a tank of formaldehyde, Hirst is no stranger to extravagance, and his property interests certainly follow suit.

Although his main residence is tucked away in Combe Martin, North Devon, his most famous purchase to date is the 19th-century estate Toddington Manor in Gloucestershire, which boasts 300 rooms and a regal Gothic exterior. We can’t even imagine what the upkeep must cost to maintain this mammoth of a home—to say nothing of Hirst’s ongoing gut renovation of the entire property—but having an estimated net worth of $350 million probably helps.

Even a wealthy art superstar like Hirst isn’t above renting. The artist spent some time on Phuket at Villa Chan Grajang, an expansive beach house that sleeps 12 people, has two pools, a private gym, and a billiard room. Depending on how many friends you want to bring along, renting the villa could cost anywhere from $1,450 to $6,000 a night.

If you’re looking for a more affordable slice of life on the Hirst side, the artist also owns a restaurant called The Quay in Ilfracombe, the town where he is set to build his eco-homes development. For a relatively reasonable price, one can dine next to original Hirst artworks and take in views of the English town’s quaint harbor.
