The Madness of Art: Don’t Discount It—Season 4, Episode 7

Jim deals with a pushy art consultant and a picky customer.

In Season 4, Episode 7, a very important client visits the gallery. There’s only one rule: No discounts. Will Jim manage to sell a piece by David Mitchell, Robert Petersen (American, b. 1945), or Charlie Hewitt (American, b.1946) at full price? Or will he crack under pressure?

Formerly a private art dealer, Jim Kempner opened his Chelsea Gallery, Jim Kempner Fine Art, in the fall of 1997. Since 2010, his web series The Madness of Art has taken a behind-the-scenes look at the New York art world.
