Ovation’s ‘Art Breaker$’ Sweepstakes Promo Gets MoMA’s Name Wrong—Duh

The Ovation network’s art advisor reality TV series, “Art Breaker$,” premiered Sunday, featuring the art-advisor-ing adventures of former sorority sisters Carol Lee Brosseau and Miller Gaffney.
We knew this wasn’t going to go well when a promo video for the show claimed, in a graphic, that the pair had received MFAs from Sotheby’s Institute, even though an MFA is an art-making degree and Sotheby’s doesn’t offer one. (They later fixed the graphic on the video.)
And now they’ve done it again. The Art Breaker$ have, well, broken the Museum of Modern Art’s name.
An email promoting a sweepstakes organized by Ovation along with cable company RCN says that you can register to win “a VIP trip for two to the Modern Museum of Art (MoMa).”
Beyond not capitalizing the final “A” in the shortened version, we would be remiss to not note that it’s called the Museum of Modern Art.
Representatives of the Modern Museum of Art—no, wait, sorry, the Museum of Modern Art—did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
If you’re an RCN customer in certain states, you can enter the sweepstakes here by October 14 and “spend the day living like the high-profile celebrity clients” who are featured in the series. It includes a meet and greet with Gaffney, along with lunch, limousine service, a $500 gift card, “And More!”
The package is said to be worth $2,000.
