Here Are SPRING/BREAK Art Show’s 2015 Curators

The front steps at Moynihan Station.

The SPRING/BREAK Art Show, a favorite among artists, critics, and the easily ‘fairtigued’ announced a few weeks ago that it will move from its longtime location at Nolita’s Old School to midtown’s Moynihan Station. In 2013, the historic building was sold, and like all good things in New York, it is being torn down to make room for condos.

But despite the new, arguably less hip location, the curator-driven art fair will soldier on. Organizers Ambre Kelly and Andrew Gori announced yesterday the roster of over 80 curators, 22 of which have participated in previous years. Seventy-five percent of the curators are new to the fair, and the number of participating curators has doubled since last year’s fair (see SPRING/BREAK Probes Deep Into Our Techno-Creepy Culture). Notable names include Kelly and Gori themselves, as well as artist and Pioneer Works founder Dustin Yellin.

This year’s theme, TRANSACTION, refers to the notion of implicit and underlying exchange, from technological and fiscal to emotional and ideological.
