The United States might be settling down for a long holiday weekend, but meanwhile over in Amsterdam things are heating up for a busy four days of art-related festivities. The annual Amsterdam Art Weekend starts today, and now through Sunday the capitol of the Netherlands is host to an array of exhibitions, performances, conferences, and screenings. There’s lots to choose from, so we’ve rounded up our must-see highlights to help you parse your options. To be honest I don’t know if turkey is readily available in Amsterdam—probably not?—but if you’re lucky enough to be over there you probably have better things on your mind than our American holiday. Chow on stuffing and cranberries another time. Or not. If Thanksgiving food was really good, wouldn’t we eat it during the rest of the year? Focus on art instead.
