Björk seems determined to take New York by storm this spring. In addition to her MoMA retrospective (see Björk Gets MoMA Retrospective) and subsequent album launch (see Björk Will Release New Album Timed with MoMA Retrospective), the Icelandic musician and artist has announced a series of “intimate” shows for March and April.
Brooklyn Vegan reports that there will be six shows: two at Carnegie Hall on March 7 and 14, and four at City Center on March 25 and 28, and April 1 and 4. Presale tickets went on sale Monday, but there’s another chance to score them starting at noon on Friday, January 23.
The shows will mark Björk’s first performances in New York since 2012.
She is also slated to headline at the Governors Ball, the music festival that takes place on Randall’s Island from June 5–7. (Will everyone be Björked out by then, or will we just be getting started? Only time will tell.)
For now, have a peek at Björk’s hybrid software application (app) and music album Biophilia, which is the first downloadable one in its permanent collection, according to a report in engadget. (See MoMA Buys Björk’s Biophilia App for Its Collection.)
