Curators Appointed for the British Art Show 8

Anna Colin and Lydia Yee will curate the next British Art Show, Hayward Touring has announced. The next edition of the quinquennial event will open in October 2015 at Leeds Art Gallery. Thereafter, it will tour to Edinburgh, Norwich, and Southampton.

“Each edition has captured a unique moment in British art, and this one will be no different,” commented Roger Malbert, senior curator at Hayward Touring which oversees the show. Anna Colin, a French independent curator and co-director of Open School East, and Yee, a curator at the Barbican Art Gallery in London, are yet to reveal what they have in mind for this much-scrutinized barometer of contemporary art in Britain.

They simply stated: “we plan to develop the exhibition in close dialogue with emerging and established artists who reflect the complexity of artistic practice today and to foster a lively exchange between the artists, venues and audiences.”
