Over the weekend, former ‘N Sync member Lance Bass married boyfriend Michael Turchin, a self-proclaimed “aspiring actor, artist, occasional model, psuedo radio personality, [and] nice Jewish boy,” according to his Twitter page.

Based on a perusal of his website, Turchin’s artwork is heavily Pop-influenced, featuring mostly celebrity portraits rendered in either black and white or neon colors with graffiti-inspired paint drips. Icons like Madonna, Elvis, and Kurt Cobain have all gotten the Turchin treatment—and according to the website, most of them have sold.

The International Business Times reports that Bass’s new husband has previously been commissioned to do portraits of actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler and “Real Housewife” Lisa Vanderpump. He was also commissioned to do a painting for the set of The Voice, after the set designer stumbled upon his work on Instagram.

“[The Voice] commissions a handful of artists to do paintings for different stages, with a couple of artists in each room, he told Creative Loafing Tampa.

When asked about his incorporation of text into his paintings, something almost all of them feature, he replied: “I feel like the backgrounds that I do are bigger than the [images]. I do try to put some thought into it. Sometimes it’s a dark view, sometimes a pun.”
