Pack your bags. The Hamptons are the mecca of the super-rich, and, this month, you can enjoy summer at the beach and a lot of art. This weekend, Art Southampton, the premier contemporary and modern art fair in the Hamptons, is kicking off its fourth edition, featuring fine art, design, and decorative art from the 20th and 21st centuries. If you cannot make it to the fair, we recommend registering for the course The History and Mystery of Prices in the Art World, taking place during the fair. In an exclusive new waterfront venue at the Fairview Farm at Mecox, Market Art + Design, formerly known as Art Market Hamptons, presents galleries with curated artworks.

If it’s too hot outside, explore one of the art museums. The Guild Hall in East Hampton is a center for visual and performing arts, and board member Alec Baldwin hosts readings and performances there. At the Parrish Art Museum, you can be part of the annual Midsummer Party, with artists, philanthropists, business leaders, and world guests.

And the art galleries are also not on a summer break. The Bridgehampton location of Mark Borghi Fine Art is featuring Bernie Taupin’s first one-man show in New York, with 16 contemporary and abstract works by the British artist. The Eric Firestone Gallery is hosting a group exhibition with the funny title “She Sells Seashells by the Seashore,” which ‘brings the beach to the gallery.’ All of the artworks on display emphasize symbols of summer. The gallery also represents artworks by Mia Fonssagrives Solow, whose 50-year career encompasses works in a range of media, from jewelry to sculpture.

Enjoy summer at the beach in the Hamptons!
