Take a Peek Inside Ivanka Trump’s Art Collection
Does her collection reveal her as a voice of reason? It's hard to say.

As artists urge Ivanka Trump to act as the voice of reason in the administration of her father, newly-elected President Donald Trump, it’s worth noting that the young business woman is an enthusiastic art collector.
The subject of the “Dear Ivanka” protest movement is an avid social media user, and shots of the apartment she shares with husband, Jared Kushner, have recently emerged on Instagram and elsewhere. These images reveal a home filled with contemporary art: she counts Cy Twombly, Wade Guyton, and Joe Bradley among her favorite artists, and she told Artsy that her rules for collecting are that “we don’t buy art that we don’t love and we only buy something if we BOTH love it and want to live with it.”
Will Trump’s taste guide her father’s hand as he prepares to redecorate the White House? Will she, unlike Sylvester Stallone, play any role in overseeing the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)?
That all remains to be seen, but now is as good a time as any to revisit what we already know about what’s in Ivanka Trump’s collection.
Dan Colen
Another one of Trump’s favorite artists, Dan Colen has a series of paintings made from used chewing gum, one of which hangs in her apartment.
Alex Da Corte
Philadelphia artist Alex Da Corte is none-too-pleased to see his art in Trump’s apartment. “Please get my work off of your walls,” he implored the soon-to-be First Daughter on Instagram. “I am embarrassed to be seen with you.”
Louis Eisner
According to Bloomberg, Trump bought a piece by Louis Eisner, of the Still House Group, from Bill Powers in 2013. Eisner’s exhibition “Leviathan” inaugurated the uptown location for Power’s Half Gallery in New York, and it featured, among other works, a large-scale hanging mobile with cartoon drawings from pop culture.
Alex Israel
One of Los Angeles artist Alex Israel’s gradient-based works is displayed above Trump’s dining room table.
Nate Lowman
This Black Escalade bullet hole silkscreen by Nate Lowman sold for $665,000 at Sotheby’s New York in 2013, and it is very similar to the one Trump displays behind a piano in her apartment.
David Ostrowski
Also featured on the Trump Instagram is what appears to be one of David Ostrowski’s “Relax/Outline Paintings,” which the artist showed in Cologne with Berlin’s Peres Projects in 2013—it seems that the year might have seen a bit of a Trump/Kushner art buying spree.
Garry Winogrand
According to Vogue, the hallways of Trump’s apartments are lined with photographs by Garry Winogrand, known for his street photography of women.
Christopher WoolÂ
Trump loved this blue-and-white Christopher Wool painting so much that she had her design team create a floral “Mara” bag to match for her collection at Lord and Taylor.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner
Apparently the couple is also a fan of painting “date nights.”
An earlier version of this article erroneously attributed Alex Da Corte’s comments about Ivanka Trump to Alex Israel. artnet News regrets the error.Â
