artnet News is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Zhang to the position of publisher of artnet News China. She will be leading the effort to further strategize, promote, and develop artnet news in China and across Asia.

“One year ago, artnet News was the first website in the world to provide continuous 24-hour global art news coverage. In March, we passed 1.5 million visits per month,” said Benjamin Genocchio, editor-in-chief artnet News worldwide. “We now look forward to bringing the world’s best quality newswire to the Chinese art world.”

Zhang, a Beijing native, joined artnet in 2012 in the art data analytics department before transitioning over to lead the Chinese marketing and publishing team. Most recently, she has served as artnet’s Director of Greater China.

“I’m very happy about our progress in China and very optimistic about the future of our business ventures there,” said Jacob Pabst, the CEO of artnet. “All of this would have not been possible without Jessica.”

Zhang studied economics and art history at Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts, and received her management degree from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina.

Under Zhang’s leadership, artnet has built strong relationships with Chinese organizations, including governmental bodies, art industry players such as the China Association of Auctioneers, and financial institutions.
