It’s officially September and although temperatures may be cooling down, Munich’s art scene is certainly heating things up with art offerings for every taste. OPENart 2016 Weekend in Munich begins tomorrow. Galleries will be open late, so have a chilled Paulaner and prepare to check out some of the city’s most exciting Modern and contemporary art exhibitions—with several galleries holding guided tours on Saturday and Sunday. The exhibitions run the gamut of media and you can take your pick. Galerie Thomas’ “Figur/Figure” show will have paintings by the late, great Emil Nolde, and several other galleries—including Galerie Thomas Modern—will be showcasing recent works from contemporary artists. With so many exhibitions opening, it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the quiet city before tourists descend for Oktoberfest next weekend.
