Let’s celebrate SP-Arte, the São Paulo International Art Festival. Now in its 13th edition, this fair provides an unbeatable platform for cultural and artistic exchange between curators, collectors, artists, galleries, and admirers of art, and it’s happening right now. For enthusiasts of Brazil’s art scene, this is the best time to explore the country’s galleries, too, as they put up some of their best shows of the year to coincide with the week’s festivities. In São Paulo, you won’t want to miss local artist Luiz Zerbini’s elegant, elegiac prints of plant life—they’re haunting in their specificity and loveliness. For a survey of bold, graphic works, head over to Galeria Raquel Arnaud’s group show “The Matter of Color” and discover exceptional pieces by Sonia Delaunay, Josef Albers, Yves Klein, and more. Meanwhile, over in Rio de Janeiro’s Luciana Caravello Arte Contemporânea gallery, check out the psychedelic painting of Pedro Varela that he uses to explore the connection between Latin America’s colonial past and its recent history.

And that’s just the beginning—find our full list of picks below.
