Saatchi Art, an online art gallery, has launched a free mobile application that will allow users to virtually hang art on their walls before they decide to make purchases.

“For art buyers, one of the hardest parts of making a purchase is imagining what a work will look like on your own wall,” Saatchi Art’s general manager, Scott Boecker, said in a statement. “With the app’s View In A Room feature, we’ve eliminated that guesswork by allowing you to use your phone’s camera to view a specific work to scale on your wall in real time.”

The app will allow consumers to browse thousands of artworks by medium, dimensions, and price; “follow” their favorite artists; and share their “View In A Room photos” through email and social media. At the other end, artists (or their assistants) can manage their own pages by photographing and uploading their own work.
