Art Cologne announced that it will be adding a film sector to this year’s offering on Monday. For what’s been titled “Film Cologne,” the world’s oldest art fair and Germany’s most prominent has invited Alec Crichton to curate approximately nine hours worth of video art and artist films by the likes of Keren Cytter, Christian Jankowski, Allan Kaprow, Anthony McCall, Marcel Odenbach, Martha Rosler, Anri Sala, and Erik van Lieshout. Aside from its presentation at Art Cologne itself, the films will be broadcast in a continuous loop on video art TV channel Souvenirs From Earth and via their online streaming service, www.sfe.tv beginning at noon CET on April 9th and running through April 13th. Souvenirs from Earth was founded by artist Marcus Kreiss in 2006. Crichton took over in 2008.
