“Cukrovarnická 39, Prag” is an exhibition by the Brussels based artists Lucy McKenzie and Laurent Dupont for which they created joint works that encompass their individual practices.
Originally exhibited at SVIT a suburban home in Prague in 2015, the works in “Cukrovarnická 39, Prag” are objects and improvised mdf structures that the artists have painted with what they call “skins”. The objects and their homely surroundings were thus lifted and given another identity.
This exhibition sees elements from the original exhibition removed from their original setting and placed in a gallery context at Galerie Meyer Kainer in Vienna.
Meanwhile, at the Boltenstern.Raum, the gallery is presenting the third collection of Atelier E.B, a fashion label run by McKenzie and Beca Lipscombe, which brings critical reflection on themes like conditions of production and distribution to mind.
