Take a peek into the life of auctioneer, collector, and artnet News columnist Simon de Pury. Via his Instagram, he will be sharing a bit of glamour and a bit of excitement with us each week—whether he’s trotting the globe or on the scene closer to home.
This week, Simon didn’t let summer’s malaise stop him from seeing great art, often in the presence of the creators themselves. Eric Fischl, Parker Ito, and Kour Pour each made an appearance in Simon’s feed. He also visited Gagosian Gallery’s Beverly Hills outpost, where he enjoyed the work of Richard Artschwager with gallery director Deborah McLeod and art adviser Esthella Provas, who sported some hyper-cool shades for the occasion. But our favorite picture of the week is of art dealer Stefan Simchowitz gamely putting his hands above his head underneath a sign for “Simco’s Garage”.
