On the eve of the most anticipated television comeback of the year—Game of Thrones—this weekend, Nordic countries have a little extra wind in their sails, being one of the major sources of inspiration for the medieval fantasy TV show. Before you enter the dangerous world of George R. R. Martin, make sure to study our Must-See Guide first which, appropriately enough, focuses this week on Stockholm. From April 22 to April 24, the capital of Sweden will host Market Art Fair, the leading Nordic fair for contemporary art. Since 2006, collectors and art professionals have gathered here to discover artworks featured by major galleries from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Finland.

Use this guide to discover a curated selection of Swedish galleries. Whether participating in the art fair or not, they offer exciting local exhibitions you don’t want to miss during your stay. With artists ranging from Helena Blomqvist to Wilhelm Mundt, don’t waste a minute—head to Stockholm, and take in the art! Television can wait, and we bet that in the galleries and art fair, you’ll be safe from spoilers.
