The Well-Versed Art World

Just in time for Frieze week, our first limerick.

Julian Schnabel, Portrait of a freedom fighter (1984)

There was a man named Kohlrabi
who wasn’t a bit of a snobby
When the markets needed fixin,
He’d pull all sorts of tricks in
Saying selling art was a hobby.

Kohlrabi was also a bit slobby
He ate with his hands,
dribbled pasta all over his tie.
Oh my goodness it was to die.

His friend Mr. Brunt a market
fixing runt reveled in pleasure
often beyond measure
pulling his tricks in
when the market needed fixin
now moving on from Workol to Snorkel.
