Earlier this month, during Paris’s haute couture week, passers-by might have noticed a glorious yellow glow emanating from a Rue Saint-Honoré vitrine. The high jewelry presentations were underway, and Graff unveiled a dazzling selection that stood out like a brilliant ray of sunshine.
For the new Sunrise collection, the luxury jeweler focused on luminous yellow diamonds—accentuated, of course, with their gleaming white brethren. It’s a fabulous journey of luster, rarity, and craftsmanship. “This will be the most significant collection of yellow diamonds that has ever been brought together in one place,” said the brand’s CEO, Francois Graff.
Fancy yellow diamonds are a key component of the luxury jeweler’s legacy, dating back to 1974 and the magnificent 47.39-carat Star of Bombay. Other iconic yellow Graff gems include the Delaire Sunrise and the honey-hued Golden Empress.
The new collection includes earrings and rings rendered in Graff’s bold, tribal-inspired design, but the pièce de resistance is the stunning necklace featuring a 30.28-carat fancy intense yellow diamond in a pear shape. Yellow diamonds radiate out like sunbeams, and it’s accented with a dazzling assortment of white diamonds.
For Graff, the stone always comes first and guides the ultimate form. “Before we design, we study each diamond carefully to uncover the secrets that lie within its depths,” explained Anne-Eva Geffroy, Graff’s design director. “Only then do we design, and when we do, we work to accentuate the natural beauty of each stone.”
She continued: “Yellow diamonds bring so much joy. It is an honor to be inspired by stones that radiate such beauty.”
