The last known photographs of Robin Williams, taken just two days before he committed suicide, show the legendary actor and comedian attending an opening at MINE Gallery near his home in San Francisco with wife, Susan Schneider. The artist whose exhibition it was, ceramicist Mark Jaeger, told TMZ that Williams “seemed in good spirits” and was “laughing frequently” at the event. But the photographs show otherwise; Williams looked frail, donning eyeglasses and dressed in all black.

Last Thursday, his widow announced that her 63-year old husband had recently been diagnosed with early stages of Parkinson’s disease.

“Robin’s sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson’s disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly,” Schneider said in a statement. “It is our hope in the wake of Robin’s tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid.”

Shocked and saddened by his sudden passing, co-stars, family, and friends—and street artists—continue to pay tribute to the comedic star.

“Stunned to learn Robin had PD,” actor Michael J. Fox, diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991, tweeted Thursday. “Pretty sure his support for our Fdn predated his diagnosis. A true friend; I wish him peace.”
